EASY to see right across river from my office. Unfortunately her name say's it all for buyers. Owner does really like her so although he's motivated to buy a 4788, he's not going to give this one away for the same price as some of the older "nasty" 45's that have been sold recently. This is NOT a project yacht.
FRESH Buff & Wax and engine servicing 7/15/08.

Being that I specialize in Bayliner Pilothouse Motoryachts, I'm very picky to the listings that I will accept as I pride myself as having only the best. The 4588's were finished in production in 1993 and as such are getting rather "long in the tooth". Good ones are very hard to find due to the expenses of keeping up a yacht in yacht condition. The low prices of these vessels relative to other marques attracted many buyers solely due to the low prices. I've found that many of these owners of old 4588's cannot or will not spend the money pro-actively required to keep a yacht in Yacht Condition. Therefore the vast majority of 4588's are in need of substantial money to refit or bring to proper 2007 condition. This vessel is NOT one of those- THIS is the ONLY 4588 on the market EAST of the PACIFIC Ocean that I can recommend. PERIOD. This is well kept in 100% "turn-key & go" (the owner who lives in Vermont can fly into Miami- crank her up and go upon arriving at the boat!)without any delays. To be in this condition, a boat must be upgraded and maintained BEFORE any issues arises. This requires what we brokers call "deep pockets" which means the owner is willing, able and ready to spend the money required to own a proper yacht. The name of the boat is correct as MIKEY DOES LIKE his yacht and one can readily see this fact. You are NOT going to find a yacht condition 4588 for project boat kind of money. The wise buyer who can do simple addition should add up the costs of refitting (much less UPGRADING)a project boat (don't forget to triple it when your done)and quit wasting TIME (is money) and buy a NICE YACHT THAT NEEDS nothing instead as it's going to be less expensive in the long run. Buy QUALITY and you ONLY CRY ONCE. I will not list a 4588 older than 1989.
I know the provenance of ALL the boats I sell.
This is a 4588 that is 100% turn-key ready to go cruising. New Exhaust Risers pro-actively installed 5/07. New flybridge seats COMPLETELY built out of Starboard with new upholstery 10/07.
$21,000.00 price reduction. Seller has his eye on his next boat (a 4788)and say's "sell mine first". Quit looking at junk and come buy a good 4588 so the owner can buy a good 4788. Don't be shy - MAKE a formal offer!!!
I sold her from the original owner when located WAY up the Hudson River (freshwater from 1992 to 1998) to her 2nd owner in 1998 and to her third and current owner in 2004. Easy to see-right outside my office.
She has new quality carpet, all exterior canvas, All new raw water hoses throughout. Stidd Helm seat, 8-new 6v Batteries in series (06), 12.5kw gen, 3 Marine ACs, ALL new Canvas 06. New exhaust risers on both engines 6/07 PRO-ACTIVELY installed. New complete flybridge seats in Starboard and upholstery in Oct 2007. Bottom painted 4/20/07(dived monthly on contract) with zinc's-photo's posted. So much new stuff & equipment I can't keep track of it all. Whatever the Captain (how often do you see this on a Bayliner 45?) thinks it needs- it's done. Whatever I, the broker recommends needing done-it's done without the owner whining about the cost. It always cheaper in the long run to do things BEFORE it's needed. BRING AN OFFER.
